Now there is a lot of information about how to feel, to develop emotional intelligence and at the same time be very happy and calm. I explain my own opinion based on practical experience and logic.

💫Emotional intelligence is basically the ability to use, distinguish and regulate a certain range of emotions. As with intelligence (the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills), its level varies from person to person.
💫In some cases, such as depression or trauma, a person’s emotional sensitivity can change dramatically.
💫A quick test on your emotional intelligence: take a scale of emotions (preferably a larger one) and note everything you have felt over the past 2 weeks. See if there are still emotions that you felt in the last year and mark them in a different colour. With the third colour mark emotions which you have felt a long time ago. Now you have the approximate range of emotions that is normal for you. If you see that there is a big difference between the past and the present in the spectrum of your sensations, then it makes sense to pay attention to it, analyse: “Why so?”
💫So, get to know your spectrum of emotions and accept it as your personal norm. If you have hypersensitivity and it is difficult for you to live with it, it makes sense to work on understanding and controlling emotions. If on the contrary, your emotional range is pretty low, then it makes sense to learn to add more verbal information about your state or desires when communicating.
💫Now there is a myth that to develop emotional intelligence is to learn to feel more or, on the contrary, to regulate emotions so well that you always feel calm.
💫As I see it, for a hypersensitive person to find permanent peace – is practically to stop feeling and this is not ok. While for a person with a reduced emotional spectrum, learning to feel something more than joy and sadness is quite a difficult and unnecessary task.
💫 Therefore, be sensitive and accepting to yourself and your loved ones. Learn to understand each other because a world, in which people are the same resembles a cult.
